Who is organizing this? The idea for Refugees Welcome♥ was cooked up by UNICEF and the folks who brought you #TeamRefugees. But each dinner is organized by the host. Which means each dinner is unique. Our robust community of former and future hosts are able to share information and inspiration as they break down barriers.

Is there an affiliation fee? Nope! Just sign up to host, then join our Facebook community. You are responsible for the cost of food and your event space. The objective is to share, learn, build community and most importantly, have fun!

How do I find local refugees to invite? Hosts are encouraged to work with local resettlement agencies to connect with refugees. These agencies can help you find dinner guests and they’ll also provide you with information about how refugees come to your community.

Where can I host a dinner? You don’t have to host in your own home or office (though you’re welcome to!). Dinners can take place at restaurants, in community spaces or in rented spaces. Think about where you would like to meet new friends and spend some quality time – somewhere you can eat, have conversations and welcome your guests.

I represent an organization that would like to host a dinner. What should I do? Choose a point of contact from your organization, and sign up HERE to host. You’ll get access to all the tools you need. Please include the name of your organization in addition to your own name. Then, start working internally to rally your colleagues, get in touch with refugee guests and send invitations.

I have additional questions. Who should I contact? Email us at [email protected]. We’re here! (And currently snacking.)
